Getting glass cut to the shape you need can be difficult. A waterjet machine can cut glass to the size and shape needed, leaving a smooth, rounded edge. We recently cut reinforced glass windows that go in to construction equipment. We can cut pieces up to 4 ft. x 10 ft.
Unlike most glass cutters, we can cut intricate designs from the glass with no nipping or breaking along cut lines. This reduces waste glass associated with clearances required for breaking cut pieces free. It also enables the smooth curve you see above with very clean edges.
One glass we cannot cut is tempered glass. Tempered glass is engineered to shatter when hit with a directed force, including the water from a water jet machine. Typically glass will be cut, then tempered in an oven.
